It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Bitler, a life time member of St. Peter UCC.  His obituary and funeral information can be found below.  

James Evans Bitler. Age 84. Born at home on Mt Pleasant Road on December 5, 1939.
 

Graduated from Owen J Roberts High School class of 1958, and was in the last class to graduate from the Old North Coventry building. He worked some 20 years for Firestone before the Pottstown plant closed. Other jobs put him at Builders Equipment and Supply and Walls Heating and Plumbing.  Jim was a hardworking family man, and family was an important part of his life.  He married his high school sweetheart Nancy Moore and they celebrated their 61st anniversary last year.
 

Mr. Bitler was baptized, confirmed and became a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Knauertown.  So, he spent his whole life in that church and became active in its community.  It was rare for him to miss a service, and he faithfully served on the Cemetery Committee.
 

Mr. Bitler is survived by six children, Todd Bitler, Michael Bitler, Roger Bitler, Kimberly, wife of Eric Becker, Gregory Bitler, and Allison, wife of Kevin Thompson, seven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Scott Bitler, two siblings, and his beloved wife, Nancy.
 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at St. Peter United Church of Christ Knauertown, 1920 Ridge Road, Pottstown, Pennsylvania on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Pastor Peter Detterline. Burial will follow in the St. Peter United Church of Christ Cemetery, Pottstown, PA. Friends will be received from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at St. Peter United Church of Christ Knauertown. Arrangements are being handled by the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home.
